How to sort by color

Let’s say you have a sheet with color coded rows, and you wish to sort the rows by color.
This is rather simple to do with Excel 2007/2010, but not trivial at all with Excel 2003 or earlier versions.
datapig offers a rather simple solution: Add a color-index column, with a user defined function that fetches the color, and sort by that.
